In this episode of Brunch, I sit down with Shelby Regier, Assistant Director of the Arizona Rattlers Sidewinders, to discuss how to show up and bring your best to auditions - especially from a Director’s point of view.

Be confident

You have one opportunity to shine and show the judges who you are. Get in the zone and focus on your own performance. The hardest part is to show up audition day so be yourself and bring your best!

Tip2.png

Be well-rounded

Not only are teams looking for a talented, skilled dancer but they are also looking for additional qualities in each person to represent their team. Know that responsibilities extend past came day and a lot of time is spent throughout the community. Developing additional skills will help you be well-rounded and a standout representative.

Tip3.png

Come prepared as much as you possibly can be

Take advantage of multiple resources like prep classes, social media and teams’ websites to help you be as prepared as you possibly can be come audition day. You can control certain things ahead of time and feel confident walking in knowing you’ve done your research. Also, reach out to former/current team members to get even more helpful tips.

Tip4.png

Remember you are always representing

Remember as a potential candidate you're always representing an organization. Keep this in mind both on and off the field.

Tip5.png

Auditions are an opportunity for growth

No matter what happens, utilize your audition as a growth opportunity and a positive experience. Take the chance to connect with others.
