It’s spring! Beyond spring cleaning, one of the best ways to incorporate that fresh spring feeling into your home this time of year (or even year round) is to bring the outside in. Open the windows, and brighten your abode with the beautiful colors of spring. To help your house really bloom into that springy oasis, here are my favorite ways to incorporate florals into your design.
Buy Fresh Flowers
Fresh flowers not only bring a bright sunny feeling into your space, they also add a light and natural fresh scent that’s sure to keep you feeling upbeat. Fresh flowers are one of my favorite ways to keep my home feeling staged and ready for any occasion as well. I love to pick up a simple but pretty bundle when I go to the grocery store. For an even more springtime experience, find somewhere where you can pick your own flowers! If your thumb is greener than mine, perhaps that’s your own garden. Keeping even the most simple bouquet of flowers on hand boosts the spirits and gives you those spring time vibes.
Bold floral prints
Incorporating floral prints into your design is another way to add that spring-timey feel to your decor. Swap out those neutral throw pillows for something more festive to freshen up your living room! Or go bold by adding a contemporary floral wallpaper to your walls. Even just framing a few dried flowers or floral prints is a fun and simple way to add botanicals to your design without committing to something long term.
Botanical inspired tile
Recently I added a black and white trellis inspired patterned tile to my bathroom floor. I love that it’s a nod to a floral or trellis pattern while still maintaining a kind of retro/modern aesthetic. Adding patterned tile in any color is a super fun way to bring a garden feel indoors any time of the year! If you go with a black and white patterned tile you can complement it with your favorite spring time colors in paint or accessories in the room.
Fresh garden color scheme
If flowers and floral prints aren’t your style, bring in the spring time feels by bringing some of those springy outdoor colors in! Your nod to spring doesn’t have to be so literal, pink pillows or green dish towels are a great way to keep that exterior aesthetic going once you come back indoors. You could even consider a brightly colored abstract painting above your sofa or a playful pastel rug.
However you decide to brighten up your space this spring, I’m sure you’ll love the the refreshing feel of an airy nature-inspired room!
