Are you ready to amplify your mental energy? If not, you better get ready, because the sun is entering Gemini for it’s annual stay on May 20, and our minds are about to go into overdrive!
Gemini acting in it’s best expression is about ideas and communication. It’s a witty, funny vibe with an ability to run you in verbal circles and have you like it. It’s nearly impossible to be bored when you’re around a Gemini sun person. As they are Mercury ruled, their minds are what they value most. They are mentally nimble, and can dance from one subject to the next on a dime, with interesting anecdotes to add on nearly any topic.
With the sun, Mercury, Venus AND the North Node hanging together in this sign, we are going to get a massive influx of this energy in our own lives over the next month. For those of you that are air heavy in your own charts, you’ll feel lighter, mentally energized, and that your mind is finally working as it should. But if air isn’t a dominant element in your chart, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed by what’s going on in your brain as it hits a higher gear.
To know a Gemini is to be blessed with a never ending source of intellectual gems. “Try this”, or, “Have you read this?”, or, “Did you see this?” are things you’ll hear from them often. They love to share information that might be helpful. Travelling through Gemini season gives us all the opportunity to tune into our own idea machines. The catch? We can feel like we don’t have enough time or resources to implement everything that flies through our minds.
So, how do we handle it all when we’re caught in this airy analysis paralysis? Well, because we also are going to experience Mercury Retrograde during Gemini season this year, we aren’t actually meant to commit to all the ideas we generate, at least not immediately. If you feel stressed because you don’t have enough time to do what you want to do, pause, breathe, and just write down your ideas. Remove the pressure to DO. This is an information gathering time, not a time for action. Gemini provides us with an opportunity to get two sides to every story. Take note of what comes up for you, and then look at it from another angle. It might be a good idea for you, but not others. Or, if it’s good for others, will this also work for you?
As the retrograde unfolds, you’ll get the additional perspective you need to eventually manifest your ideas in real life. Additionally, every planet moving through Gemini creates a helpful angle to Saturn, so the ideas that make it through the retrograde will have long-term sticking power. And with the end of Mercury Retrograde coinciding with the beginning of Cancer season, you’ll only want to move forward with the ideas that you are emotionally attached to. So for now, just see what comes in and be open to information, be it new information, or information you’ve heard before but are processing in a different way.
Finally, with Gemini season also home to two eclipses this year, it’s very possible that you’ll feel that time is both speeding up and slowing down simultaneously.
They could throw you into a time warp where you’re acting out old communication patterns. The good news here is that you also will have an increased ability to spot those patterns and alter how you want to move forward. When your ghosts come to visit, say hello if they are friendly. But if you’ve moved past a bad situation, you don’t have to go back to it. You do, however, have to look at what you’ve learned from it and how you can use it. Remember, it’s Gemini season. Gather the information, including from yourself and your experiences.
While this Gemini season is action packed, there are huge opportunities for you to see your life from a new perspective and pick up on new information. The insights you’ll glean during this time will be further implemented as you move into the next season, so don’t worry about what you’re meant to do with what comes in. Allow yourself to be overwhelmed by ideas and don’t worry about how to find time to get them all done. By the time we transition out of this mentally active time, we’ll be ready to root into those ideas that we connect with emotionally.
