When it comes to verbal communication, words of affirmation could not be higher on my list. The simpler the words, the more effective they will be. The basic, most straightforward affirmations of love you use mean the most. Whether it is you, your partner, friend, co-worker or any person in your life, words of affirmation go a long way to develop a supportive environment for your communication.

People like myself, who feel best loved through affirmations, enjoy kind remarks, words of encouragement, empowerment words and compliments either spoken to them or handwritten.

It does not come naturally to everyone to include these in their vocabulary, but that does not have to stop you from using another person’s love language in a conversation with them. You can find ways to rephrase these to how you talk to that person and show the fact that you make the effort. It can go a long way.

These are other examples of affirmations that can help fit your style of speech if the other ones do not flow with the way you talk. They all have the same purpose. You can focus on how to communicate effectively what you’re feeling toward that person, especially in thankfulness.

Not only are affirmations important to say to those around you, but words of affirmation can also be something that you can use for yourself. Communication with yourself is so important. Once you learn how to communicate to others in their love language or out of the kindness of your heart to support them, you should take what you say to others and speak those affirmations to yourself. You also deserve that.

Learning to write and speak these things out into existence is a powerful skill to have. Communicating your feelings uplifts not only yourself, but everyone around you, and can really help change the atmosphere that you are in to a more positive and supportive environment for growth. It really is such a simple concept, but once you grasp it, it can make all the difference. Trust me and give it a try!
