I feel like I’m ready to let go of certain things in my life. How do I create closure if I don’t know where to start?

KENDALL: I’m kind of feeling a lot on this. Feeling the feels. But I think December is such a beautiful time to look at closure. It's an opportunity to evaluate your life and your purpose.

Also, closure is one of those things that can come across as really scary! It’s hard to create the space for it. You may want to wait until something happens to create closure or you may be expecting someone else to give it to you. But I want to encourage you not to wait. I want you to think of this as a chance to honor your highest self.

honor the cyclical parts of life

KENDALL: We can really look at closure as honoring the cyclical parts of life and honoring our growth. This is all to make room for the things that truly light us up. Truly set our souls on fire. It is a beautiful opportunity to create closure with intention.

Don’t get caught up in expectations

KENDALL: At times we can get caught up in expectations of what we want closure to look like. How it is suppose to feel or even how the other person is suppose to feel. But when we let go of expectations, then we allow for the gift of contrast it creates in our lives.

Reflection of differentiation

KENDALL: Here is a tangible exercise that I recommend you trying: a Reflection of Differentiation. I suggest writing down a reflection of your life - what you’re seeing, feeling and experiencing and being radically honest and transparent with yourself.

And then writing down what your dream life looks like. How do you want your life to be? If you could dream really big, what would that look like? Where do you want your life to go?

Then look for the differentiation. Where are the discrepancies? Where are the things that are holding you back from serving your highest self? What do you need to let go of to make room for your dreams to come into reality?

HonoR the process

KENDALL: Honoring this process will help you focus your energy on creating the space you need. And I have to tell you that throughout this journey, your compassion for yourself has to be fierce. Because it takes mad courage to create closure around what is no longer serving you. But we know that if we hold onto things too tightly, we can’t open our hands to allow for new energy to flow into our lives.
